TCM is a system of healing that is over 2000 years old. It uses a sophisticated method of diagnosis that factors in age, sex, genetics, diet, lifestyle, emotions environment, and even the current season to determine the cause of symptoms. We observe the body in a dynamic state, including observations of pulse, tongue, the physical body (skin, hair, nails, strength of limbs, body’s alignment etc.) and vitality. The diagnosis and treatment is unique to the individual. Based on the philosophy of Daoism (or spelled Taoism); which essential is the idea of living in harmony with nature and ourselves and keeping a balance – the yin and yang balance. The purpose of TCM is to treat not only the symptom but the root of the disease, reinforce the correct energy flow or qi, eliminate anything in the body that does not serve it, and regulate homeostasis.
